Whereas, homes of thousands of urban poor are being demolished and they are forcibly evicted from their community thus resulting in increased loss of employment and means of existence, hunger and graver loss of access to basic services;

Whereas, the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) and the criminal neglect of the US-Aquino regime could not return to their communities due to the No Build Zone policy of the regime;

Whereas, the livelihood of the world’s urban poor is being attacked and the people from the urban poor communities do not enjoy adequate, stable and decent living;

Whereas, the demolitions and forced evictions are caused by projects under the Public-Private Partnership which is part of imperialism’s neoliberal policy that is being implemented in different countries;

Therefore, it is but appropriate to build a global solidarity with the urban poor and those others who are deprived of their right to livelihood and their homes. It is necessary to project in the international community the ongoing demolitions and forced evictions, and the militant and brilliant struggle of the urban poor through the people´s barricade.
