IPA to hold international launching of IPA, anti-trade liberalization campaign

The Indonesian People’s Alliance has decided to hold the international launch of the IPA and anti-trade liberalization campaign in Bali on March 22, 2013 in order to take advantage of the global gathering of state officials and civil society groups from all over the world who will be attending the events related to the HLP meeting on March 24-27, 2013.

Objectives of the Activity:

  1. To raise the profile of the Indonesia Peoples’ Alliance in the Indonesia public and the international community;

  2. To inform civil society groups and the public about the issues at stake in the coming WTO Summit;

  3. To discuss the implications of the WTO Summit agenda on the lives of the Indonesian people and the people of other countries; and

  4. To promote peoples’ local and international solidarity, and establish coordination for the anti-trade liberalization campaign up to December 2013 and beyond.

Forms of action

The solidarity launch will be mainly an education-information campaign to inspire the Indonesian public of the significance of building the peoples’ movement as a response to address peoples’ issues and concerns.

The one day series of activities on March 22 is part the process to organize and broaden the reach of the Indonesian Peoples’ Alliance.
