Issued by the Office of the ChairpersonInternational League of Peoples' Struggle
We, the International League of Peoples' Struggle, appeal to all our global region committees, national chapters, member-organizations, our friends and all the people of the world to carry out a campaign of raising resources and delivering them to the millions of people afflicted by super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in 35 provinces in the central part of the Philippines.
By Prof. JOSE MARIA SISONChairperson, International League of Peoples' Struggle
The International League of Peoples' Struggle condemns the auction of the Libra oil field in Brazil as neocolonial privatization, denationalization and imperialist plunder. Eighty per cent of the oil field, now known as the largest in the world, is auctioned off to foreign and private monopoly capital. At least 74 percent of the field is effectively owned and controlled by foreign monopoly capitalism.
The International League of Peoples' Struggle calls attention to the strategic scheme and maneuvers of US imperialism to strengthen US military bases and escalate US military intervention and plunder in the Asian-Pacific region and calls on all the oppressed peoples in the region to fight US imperialism in every way possible and necessary. The US imperialist agenda has been highlighted by US pronouncements an actuations in multilateral meetings and side meetings and in country visits by US top officials.
US imperialism under Obama is experiencing unprecedented isolation and condemnation over his drive for the US to attack Syria, overthrow the Assad government and install a pro-US government.
By his own pronouncements and actions, Obama, ironically the Nobel Peace Prize awardee in 2009, has totally discarded his dovish mask and exposed himself as no less barbarous and arrogant a warmonger than his predecessors. His direct supervision over the vicious drone attacks that has victimized countless civilian casualties callously tagged as “collateral damage” has proven Obama to be as murderous as past US imperialist chieftains in prosecuting their wars for global hegemony and superiority over their imperialist rivals.
We, the International Coordinating Committee of the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS), call on the entire ILPS, its global region region committees, its national chapters and member-organizations to undertake all possible and necessary actions against the US plan to bomb Syria and engage in a brazen war of aggression against Syria and the Syrian people.
We, the International Coordinating Committee of the International League of Peoples' Struggle, applaud the resounding success of the 19-21 July International Conference for Human Rights and Peace in the Philippines and all the related activities. We congratulate the organizers and all the participants. We are proud to have co-sponsored the conference and given our view on the relationship of the imperialist policy of neoliberalism and the worsening human rights situation in the Philippines.
