MANILA – Renimelda Abiva, 53, could not stop crying as she spoke about the arrest of her son, Rene Boy on December 28.
Mrs. Abiva said she could not believe that her son, an employee of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for more than two years, has been charged with murder in relation to an alleged ambush by the New People’s Army (NPA) in Tinoc, Ifugao on April 25 last year.

The International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) condemns in the strongest terms the assassination of three Kurdish women political activists at the office of the Kurdish Information Center in Paris. The victims of this brazenly premeditated murder who were all shot in the head were Sakine Cansiz, a founding member of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Fidan Dogan, the representative of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) in Paris and a young Kurdish woman Leyla Söylemez.

On December 7, 2012, more than 60 delegates and participants representing various social organizations met in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic to establish the first chapter of the International League of Peoples Struggle (ILPS) in Latin America and the Caribbean. ILPS is an alliance with chapters in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America that works for solidarity among the peoples who fight for democracy, social justice and against capitalism and imperialism and its wars of aggression.

Workers, urban poor and other sectors under BAYAN NCR and KMU NCR, families and friends of Roy Velez and Amelita Gamara strongly condemn the trumped up multiple murder case filed against them by the Armed Forces of the Philippines. On October 18, an arrest warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court, Fifth Judicial Region, Branch 64, Labo, Camarines Norte for Roy Velez, Amelita Gamara and 30 other people including Randy Vegas and Raul Camposano who are staffs and organizers of Confederation for the Unity, Recognition and Advancement for Government Employees. Vegas and Camposano were abducted on December 3 in Manila and suffers detention in Camarines Norte.

MANILA — Guilty of massive crimes against migrant workers.
An international tribunal, the first on the theme of migrants, has declared 37 governments guilty of using migration to advance neoliberal globalization policies and of violations of the economic, social, cultural and political rights of migrants by sending and receiving states.

The Thomas Sankara Memorial Day took place on Monday October 15th, the day of the 25th anniversary of his assassination. It was attended by over 100 participants from Senegal and several other countries.
The agenda included several political and cultural activities, most of which are recorded in a video that will be sent later.
