Este 8 de marzo, “Día Internacional de la Mujer” nos encuentra a las mujeres de los pueblos del mundo y en particular del Perú, luchando por nuestros derechos fundamentales y enfrentando las repercusiones de la crisis económica general de la globalización –la más grande y grave crisis del sistema capitalista- cuya recuperación, lejos de alcanzarse transitará un largo camino todavía, una década según reconocidos analistas que avizoran para este 2013 un año más riesgoso. Pero ¿Quiénes sufren las consecuencias de la crisis? Como siempre las millones de masas populares en el mundo y entre todas es en nosotras las mujeres del pueblo donde la crisis golpea con más fuerza. Siendo la mitad de la población mundial, las mujeres son las más pobres entre los pobres.

We, the International League of Peoples' Struggle, convey our most heartfelt condolences to the family of Comrade Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela and leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, and to the broad masses of the people of Venezuela.

We grieve his passing away but we are comforted by his achievements in the service of the people. We celebrate his legacy and we are confident that this will continue to inspire the people to exert greater revolutionary efforts and win greater victories on the revolutionary road of national and social liberation.

The Sulu sultanate was supposed to have ceded Sabah to the Republic of the Philippines in 1962. In the first place, how did the sultanate come to rule and own Sabah?

Jose Maria Sison: The Sulu sultanate had ruled and owned Sabah since 1704 when this was ceded by the Sultan of Brunei as reward to the Sultan of Sulu for helping him defeat his enemies. I presume the Sabah people of Mindanao ancestry, especially the Tausugs, Samals, Iranons and others, were the main political base of the Sulu sultanate in Sabah.
